Handcrafted paper jewellery and crafts brand designed and made by Beads by YTJ a mother-daughter team, Jane and Yue Ting.
This was inspired by Yue Ting, who has autism and enjoys the art making process of quilling, which is an art form that involves the use
of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative and intricate designs. The search for a purposeful
life by Yue Ting has led to the making of these beautifully handcrafted accessories using the skills that she is gifted in. The paper
jewellery pieces are lightweight and comfortable to wear, and are all coated with a water resistant layer.
The cover of this journal features an illustration of an angelic bear by one of our talented young artists, Koh Jun Kai, who is 17 this year and has autism. This adorable angelic bear, Beary Bless, has a special superpower that allows him to fly in the sky to bless everyone with courage, happiness and good health.
Blob is turquoise 'a blob of paint', sometimes his friends are represented alongside him, but in other colors. Blob shares his mindfulness journey and tidbits to promote art and mental well-being practices on some of our merchandise and social media platforms. We have him on our pouches now, which acts as a gentle reminder to take care of our mental health!
This artwork represents the different colours of our lives that can be combined together to create something beautiful. In life, there are always ups and downs, some are sweet and some are sour. These are the core flavours of life. These flavours come together through Leslie’s visualisation to produce this wonderful painting.
