Pretty Joo Chiat residential shophouses with Plumeria blooms are a legacy of Singapore’s Peranakan culture. As a pretty Joo Chiat shophouse adorned with Plumeria blooms, I stand as a legacy of Singapore's vibrant Peranakan culture. I am an ornamental shophouse fashioned between 1889 and 1920. My story comes to life in the artwork "JOY–樂," by JTMUSES.

In line with food sustainability and urban farming, our mushroom growing workshops teach participants the science behind how mushrooms grow and thrive, and Singapore's approach to food sustainability, of which urban farming plays a big part. With less than 1% availability of commerical farming space, residents in Singapore's urban landscape can still help to realize Singapore's goal of 30% independent food production by the year 2030.
